Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has made the following nominations:
Space Force Brig. Gen. Gregory J. Gagnon for appointment to the grade of major general. Gagnon is currently serving as the deputy chief of space operations for intelligence, Office of the Chief of Space Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Space Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Space Force Brig. Gen. Christopher S. Povak for appointment to the grade of major general. Povak is currently serving as deputy director, National Reconnaissance Office; and commander, Space Force Element, Chantilly, Virginia.
Space Force Brig. Gen. Stephen G. Purdy Jr. for appointment to the grade of major general. Purdy is currently serving as commander, Space Launch Delta 45; director, Eastern Range; and director, Launch and Range Operations, Space Systems Command, U.S. Space Force, Florida.
Space Force Brig. Gen. Steven P. Whitney for appointment to the grade of major general. Whitney is currently serving as military deputy for the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration, Headquarters, U.S. Space Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
