Geo-targeting alert sent as police appeal to help locate missing teenage boy in state's north

An SMS geo-targeting alert has been issued for the Mount Burrell, Uki and Murwillumbah areas. If you receive an SMS message from +61 444 444 444, this is not a scam

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage boy missing from the state's far north.

Joseph Buckley, aged 15, was last seen at a rural property on Mount Burrell Road, Mount Burrell, about 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 12 October 2022).

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District have commenced inquiries to locate him and have since issued an SMS geo-targeting alert.

Family and police hold concerns for Joseph's welfare due to medical conditions.

Joseph is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 160cm to 165cm tall, of thin build, with blonde hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved jumper with 'Champion' on the front, light coloured track pants, white socks and sneakers, and a white coloured cap.

Anyone who may have seen Joseph, or may know of his whereabouts, is urged to contact police.
