Twenty eight grassroots community initiatives have received a boost with $115,000 in Council grants.

The Nillumbik Community Fund (NCF) provides a variety of grants of up to $5000 from a total pool of $115,000 to support a range of initiatives that will strengthen, enhance and benefit Nillumbik communities.

Nillumbik Mayor Frances Eyre said the fund supports not-for-profit community groups, clubs, artists and organisations to provide a range of projects, programs and events that will benefit the Nillumbik community.

"We want to support and encourage those in the Nillumbik community who are well-placed to develop and deliver local activities, events, projects and programs," Cr Eyre said.

"It's exciting to see so many great community initiatives get off the ground because of Council's support.

"There are huge benefits from locally run and delivered programs. Council loves to partner and support community through our grants program so Nillumbik's community groups and organisations can be resilient and empowered to action change."

This year, the fund is supporting initiatives including musical concerts, bushfire webinars, neurodiversity programs, environmental and sustainability programs, family activities and so many more projects that continue to make Nillumbik a vibrant and diverse place to live.

Every application has been considered on its own merits, with the program's aim to fund the activities that will have the broadest positive impact in Nillumbik.
