Grievous bodily harm charge at Chinchilla

Police have charged a 21-year-old man in relation to an alleged grievous bodily harm incident in Chinchilla overnight, November 21.

It will be alleged just after 9pm, an altercation occurred at a Wambo Street property between two men who are known to each other.

A short time later, a 45-year-old Chinchilla man was struck in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious head injuries in a critical condition.

A 21-year-old Chinchilla man was taken into custody at the scene and charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear at Chinchilla Magistrates Court today, November 22.

Police are providing support to the family of the 45-year-old man, who remains in a critical condition.

The family would like to thank the community for their support and request privacy at this time.
