Grievous Bodily Harm Charge, North Maclean

Police have charged a man following an alleged serious assault incident at North Maclean last night, 3 September.

It will be alleged that around 7:30pm, a 36-year-old Redbank man and a 50-year-old woman became involved in an altercation near Beryl Parade, before a 48-year-old North Maclean man became involved.

The 48-year-old man then pushed the 36-year-old man to the ground before assaulting him with a weapon.

Emergency services were called a short time later, and the 36-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The 48-year-old man was taken into custody nearby.

He has since been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, was refused police bail and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 4 September.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with relevant information or dashcam/CCTV footage to come forward.
