Looking out for kids and making a Plan B if you're planning a night out, are two important messages for everyone on our roads these holidays.

With extra traffic expected in our region this Christmas, drivers are asked to slow down and look out because there'll be more people, particularly kids, about.

Rhys Jones, Road Safety Officer, is asking every driver in the Shire to take extra care on our roads during this busy time.

'Every family wants to have their loved ones arrive home safely this Christmas. With lots of extra traffic around, I'd ask every driver to take even more care to keep everyone safe when on our roads,' Mr Jones said.

'Together with South West Rocks Rotary, we are proud to support the Little Blue Dinosaur program. Signs are up in a number of carparks and high traffic areas in South West Rocks, reminding those with little ones to hold their hand to help keep them safe.

'Making a Plan B when you're making plans to go out to keep you and your mates safe is a good call. Your Plan B could be a taxi, phoning a friend, organising a designated driver, catching a bus or packing your swag!
