HKUST, SEMI to Host 2025 Semiconductor Summit in HK

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is pleased to partner with SEMI to co-host the inaugural Semiconductor Innovation and Intelligent Application Summit (SIIAS) on December 2, 2025. Supported by the HKSAR Government, this landmark event will be held in Hong Kong for the first time, bringing together global industry leaders, pioneering researchers, and key policymakers to shape the future of semiconductor innovation and drive the industry's strategic development. The SIIAS will further establish Hong Kong as a global innovation hub for microelectronics and advanced manufacturing.

Prof. SUN Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR Government, along with Mr. Lung CHU, Corporate Vice President of SEMI, will address the Summit by offering their distinctive perspectives on semiconductor industry development. The day-long event will also include insightful plenary sessions and industry-focused discussions, featuring key industry leaders from Chinese Mainland, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Singapore and etc.

The event will also feature an interactive innovation zone showcasing cutting-edge technological achievements from 12 research teams across HKUST and HKUST (Guangzhou). This vibrant exhibition will vividly illustrate how semiconductor technology is propelling global progress. Additionally, a series of specially designed STEM workshops will provide secondary school students with immersive, hands-on experiences to explore the exciting applications of artificial intelligence and semiconductor technology.
