The University of Texas at Arlington will celebrate Homecoming Week 2022 beginning Nov. 7 through Saturday, Nov. 12. The week will be full of athletic competitions, reunions and traditional events that embody the unique Maverick spirit.
"Homecoming week fills the campus with blue, white and orange, and the excitement and festivities make it the best week of the year," said PK Kelly, UTA's director of student activities.
Homecoming is a time-honored celebration for not only current students, but also UTA alumni, faculty and staff. Participants can expect giveaways and make memories throughout the week at UTA basketball and volleyball games and events like the Homecoming Chili Cook-off.
Other Homecoming highlights include:
-
Mum-Mania takes place on Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. on the third floor of the Central Library.
Learn about the history behind Homecoming Mums and make your own. Mum-making supplies will be available at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The annual Street Festival followed by the Homecoming Parade is not to be missed. The Street Festival will take place Spaniolo Drive Saturday, Nov. 12, from 2-5 p.m. Attendees can enjoy food and fun activities. The parade will start at 5:45 p.m. with floats driving down Spaniolo Drive and throughout the College Park District. "My favorite event is always the festive Chili Cook-Off," said David Nguyen, this year's Mr. UTA, who is studying computer science.
