Junior Taylor Hoss scored with less than one second remaining, lifting the Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse team to a heart-stopping 13-12 win against Stony Brook in an NCAA tournament quarterfinal played at Homewood Field on Thursday afternoon.
The win sent the fourth-seeded Blue Jays (17-4) to the NCAA semifinals for the first time in school history.
Hopkins took possession by forcing a turnover with just 13 seconds remaining, then moved the ball upfield with a series of precision passes, culminating in Hoss's game-winner from the right side of the crease. The goal gave JHU its first lead of the game.
