ICYMI: Biden- Harris Administration Kicks Off Hispanic Heritage Month

The White House

Last week, the Biden-Harris Administration kicked off National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the rich history and values the Hispanic community contributes to our nation. To start the month's events, President Biden spoke at the 45th Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Awards Gala where he honored the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and Latino leaders from across our nation, while highlighting the Administration's efforts to create economic opportunities for Latino families.

Earlier in the week, Vice President Harris participated in a conversation with Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Chairwoman U.S. Representative Nanette Díaz Barragán where they discussed a range of issues from creating more access to economic opportunities for Latinos to protecting and defending reproductive rights. The following day, the Vice President participated in an interview with Erazno of Erazno and Chokolata, a national, syndicated Spanish language radio station.

On Thursday, the White House, for the first time, began its daily press briefing with a Spanish language topper emphasizing the commitment of the Administration to Latinos and the accomplishments made since President Biden took office.

Throughout this National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Biden-Harris Administration will continue building on the efforts the Administration is taking to advance opportunities for Latino families across the country and highlighting Latinos across the Administration.
