With the generous scenery of the Serles we held our annual Innsbruck-Munich Empirical Economic Research Workshop from September 18-20, 2025, at Maria Waldrast. The workshop was jointly organized by Andreas Steinmayr (University of Innsbruck) and Joachim Winter (LMU Munich) and brought together around 22 participants from the University of Innsbruck and LMU Munich.
As in previous years, the primary goal was to provide young researchers with a platform to present their ongoing work, receive constructive feedback, and strengthen their presentation skills in an open and collegial setting. Presentations covered a range of empirical projects on topics including migration, labor markets, health economics, and political economy (see attached program).
To foster networking and informal exchanges beyond the seminar room, the program also included a hike to Kalbenjoch in the beautiful surroundings of the monastery, allowing for stimulating discussions in a relaxed atmosphere.
The workshop once again proved to be highly valuable for the academic development of junior researchers and for strengthening the collaboration between Innsbruck and Munich. We are very grateful for FSP Economy, Politics & Society ´s financial contribution as well as the generous support from the Faculty of Economics ans Statistics , which helped cover the workshop costs and made the event possible.
