The study will give the students a unique interdisciplinary competence in life science innovation and entrepreneurship and is aimed at students who have already been admitted to a master's programme or professional studies. The duration of study is one year and will give 20 credits, and is taken alongside the master's program (2nd and 3rd semester) or the professional study the student is currently doing.

Through lectures, seminars and project-based learning in interdisciplinary teams, the student will learn to identify and develop ideas from life science research into new products and services.

The certificate is hosted by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UiO, but the individual courses will be taught at the Department of Pharmacy and the Department of Biosciences, as well as the Department of Basic Medical Science at the Faculty of Medicine. Students from these faculties, but also from other faculties, are encouraged to apply. An important learning outcome in this certificate is working constructively in small groups with people from different professional backgrounds.
