Investigation into grow house network, South Australia

Western District CIB detectives have seized more than 500 cannabis plants and made three arrests during an investigation into a network of suburban grow houses.

Detectives searched numerous properties across the metropolitan area in the past fortnight.

A total of 531 cannabis plants, 45 kilograms of dried cannabis and $20,000 cash were found at:

  • Renown Park - $20,000 cash
  • Modbury Heights - 90 cannabis plants in a grow house
  • Gulfview Heights - 100 cannabis plants in a grow house
  • Beulah Park - 80 cannabis plants in a grow house
  • Linden Park - 152 cannabis plants in a grow house and 45 kilograms of dried cannabis
  • Salisbury Heights - 109 plants in a grow house
  • Andrews Farm - grow house found but no plants

A 24-year-old Mawson Lakes man, a 28-year-old Renown Park man and a 29-year-old Mawson Lakes man were all arrested and charged with trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, possess prescribed equipment and interfere with electricity.

The 28-year-old was also charged with money laundering.

They have all been remanded in custody to reappear in court at a later date.
