Officers from Arson Squad are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire at a home in Belmont on Tuesday, 21 February 2023.
About 2.25am, Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) were called to a home located on George Street. It is believed the fire started in the garage area before spreading to the house.
DFES extinguished the fire but the home sustained extensive damage estimated at $200,000.
The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious and Arson Squad detectives urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles in the area, or who has CCTV or dash-cam vision of George Street between 2am and 3am, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
