Investigation Underway for Body Found in Farmborough Heights

Police are investigating after the body of a man was found in the Illawarra.

Just after 6pm (Sunday 4 February 2024), emergency services were called to a home on Primrose Place, Farmborough Heights, about 10kms southwest of Wollongong, following reports a man had been located with head injuries, in the backyard of a home.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended; however, the 74-year-old man was deceased.

Strikeforce Oketo has been established by officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District with the assistance of State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and is assisting police with inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, who may have seen anything in the vicinity of Primrose Place, Farmborough Heights, between Thursday 1 February 2024 and yesterday afternoon (Sunday 4 February 2024) to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
