Investigations underway after fatal crash - Riverina region

Police are investigating following a fatal crash in the state's Riverina region yesterday.

About 1.50pm (Thursday 4 November 2021), emergency services were called to the Snowy Mountains Highway, about 20km north of Talbingo, following reports a motorcycle had hit a railing on the side of the road.

Despite efforts of a passer-by and emergency services to revive the male rider, he died at the scene.

Officers from Riverina Traffic and Highway Patrol Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police immediately.

The rider is yet to be formally identified.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
