Jacinta Allan To Face Vote Of No Confidence

Liberal Party Victoria

The Victorian Parliament will vote on a motion of no confidence in Premier Jacinta Allan following almost three years of failure leading our state.

Since becoming Premier in September 2023, Jacinta Allan has presided over criminal offending reaching an all-time high, an unemployment rate stuck above the national average, net debt growing to $200 billion and the loss of at least $15 billion of taxpayer money on Victorian major projects.

Prior to this, Jacinta Allan was a leading Minister under former Premier Daniel Andrews and was responsible for the $600 million Commonwealth Games debacle and more than $40 billion in major project cost blowouts and delays.

There must be accountability for these failings and today the Victorian Liberals and Nationals will move a motion of no confidence in Jacinta Allan.

Under the Constitution Act 1975, a motion of no confidence may be moved once per Parliamentary term, and the successful passage of a no confidence motion may trigger the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly.

Victorians can support this motion and have their say on Jacinta Allan and Labor here.

Leader of the Opposition, Jess Wilson, said: "Victoria needs a fresh start and that begins with changing the government and changing the Premier.

"It's time for a new government with the right priorities and a clear plan to deliver for Victorians.

"My Liberal and Nationals team has a plan to ease cost of living pressures, grow our economy, end the crime crisis and restore hope and prosperity to Victoria."
