June Set To Ignite NT With Bumper Month Of Events

June is shaping up to be one of the Northern Territory's biggest and brightest months yet, with a blockbuster line‑up of festivals, exhibitions, sport and cultural celebrations rolling out across the Top End and Red Centre. World‑class motorsport, street art, beanies, Greek food, Pride celebrations and the legendary Finke Desert Race, will see the Territory bursting with colour, culture and community.

Kicking off the month, the Darwin Street Art Festival is once again transforming city laneways into a vibrant outdoor gallery, with local, national and international artists creating large‑scale works that celebrate Territory stories and identity. Families can also explore the Brickman World of Wonders Exhibition 2026.The large‑scale, family‑friendly global adventure built entirely from LEGO® bricks will run throughout the Territory's school holidays until 19 July at the Darwin Convention Centre.

In the Red Centre, the iconic Tatts Finke Desert Race will roar to life over the June long weekend (5-8 June), drawing thousands of spectators and competitors for one of the world's toughest off‑road challenges. This year marks its 50th anniversary - a golden milestone for an event that has become a Territory legend. Across the Top End, the June long weekend also brings the Darwin Greek Glenti, filling the Esplanade with food, music and dancing, while the Barunga Festival will showcase powerful cultural performances and sport.

Motorsport fans are in for a huge month, with the betr Darwin Triple Crown Supercars returning to Hidden Valley from 19-21 June for 3 days of high‑octane racing, entertainment and community events. The NT Titles with the Darwin Karting Association (26-28 June) will also bring fast‑paced action to the track, highlighting the Territory's strong grassroots motorsport scene.

Rounding out the month is the Garrmalang Festival (12-13 June), celebrating First Nations arts and storytelling. The much‑loved Alice Springs Beanie Festival will return from 19-22 June with its trademark warmth, creativity and community spirit - a celebration of textile art unlike anything else in Australia. One of Darwin's most iconic community traditions, the Beer Can Regatta, will take place on Saturday 28 June, where ingenuity, humour and Territory spirit collide in a day of boat‑building, racing and family fun at Mindil Beach. The Darwin Pride Festival will also light up the city with a vibrant program of performances, parties and community events celebrating inclusivity and diversity.

With events spanning art, culture, sport, food, music and community, June offers something for every Territorian and every visitor. The Territory's 2026 events season is already off to a record start - and June is set to take it to the next level.
