Kids Vouchers Hit These School Holidays

  • First round of Kids Access All Areas Vouchers claimed by WA families
  • Fringe World, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, and Scitech the most popular venues for arts events
  • Cook Government removing financial barriers for families to enjoy arts and cultural experiences and support the creatives who make them possible
  • Cook Government diversifying the economy by fostering vibrant and creative communities

Western Australian families are enjoying a range of live performances, exhibitions, and cultural events these school holidays thanks to the Cook Government's Kids Access All Area Vouchers Program.

The first round of Kids Access All Area Vouchers have now been claimed. The initiative has so far provided 50,000 vouchers over two years, giving children aged five to 15 access to live performances, exhibitions, and cultural events across the State.

Fringe World, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, and Scitech were the most popular venues for arts and cultural events followed by Crown and Regal theatres.

The vouchers valued at $50 supported families by subsidising the cost of cultural experiences, while also boosting WA's arts sector by encouraging more people to attend events and support performers and creative communities who bring those experiences to life.

More than 100 venues and providers are participating in the program, with about 40 per cent of those in regional areas.

The next round of the Kids Access All Areas Vouchers Program will open later this year.

"With more than 100 participating venues across the State, including more than 40 venues in the regions, families right across WA have been able to make the most of these vouchers.

"The Kids Access All Areas Vouchers Program will give more Western Australian children the chance to engage with the arts and provide a boost for our creative industries.

"The Cook Government is committed to diversifying our economy by building a vibrant arts sector for all Western Australians to enjoy."
