The King's MedTech Accelerator, a programme focused on transforming research innovations into viable healthcare ventures, has accepted 25 projects into its 2026 cohort.

The six-month, part-time programme supports aspiring entrepreneurs from across King's College London, King's Health Partners (KHP), NIHR HRC Brain Health and the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) focused on transforming research innovations into viable healthcare ventures.
The King's MedTech Accelerator is delivered by the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), the centre for MedTech translation at King's. Programme participants will be supported through monthly mentorship sessions, consolidating their learning, and addressing venture-specific challenges in real time.
Now in its third year, the King's MedTech Accelerator received 41 applications and has expanded to include specialist support for Digital Health innovation projects. The programme will cater specifically to solutions with a strong digital element that treat, diagnose, or predict health outcomes.
From within King's, applications were received from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine (FoLSM), Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Science (NMES), Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care (NMPC), Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences (FoDOCS), Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's Health Partners (KHP), and King's Business School (KBS).
Congratulations to the following projects joining the 2026 cohort:

Over the next six months, the cohort will benefit from the translational experts at LIHE to develop entrepreneurship skills for advancing medical technologies. This includes tailored workshops, mentorship and expert-led sessions for MedTech including regulatory considerations, healthcare economics, value proposition design and market analysis. Participants will also receive training on how to assemble interdisciplinary teams, seek funding and partnerships and effectively communicate to navigate the MedTech venture journey.
The programme embodies King's commitment to advancing MedTech innovations for real-world impact and is supported by King's Innovation Catalyst and the King's Entrepreneurship Institute.
