Labor supports fair funding for community services 17 February

Tasmanian Labor

Labor has backed calls for fairer funding for the Tasmanian community services industry.

Tasmania is in a cost-of-living, health, housing and education crisis under the Rockliff Liberal Government, which continues to provide no meaningful relief.

At times such as this, when families are doing it the toughest, our community services are stretched to limit trying to pick up the slack.

Just as households and businesses are doing it tough, our community services are struggling with increased costs and inflation.

Jeremy Rockliff committed to reviewing community sector indexation before the 2023/24 budget.

With the Government refusing to do anything on cost of living, it is vital this review delivers a funding increase so the community sector can meet the growing needs of the community.

If the Liberal Government can afford to build a billion-dollar stadium, it should be able to afford to support the Tasmanian community services industry.

Shadow Minister for Community Services & Development
