Alumni and friends of The University of Texas at Arlington College of Business have established the Harry M. Dombroski Endowment to honor the retiring dean's leadership and create lasting opportunities for future business students.
Named in recognition of Dombroski, who served as dean of the College of Business from April 2018 to June 2026, the endowment will benefit business student organizations while expanding access to experiential learning opportunities, including internships, study abroad programs, undergraduate research and field experiences that help students apply classroom learning in real-world settings, develop professional skills and build meaningful personal and professional connections.
To help launch the endowment, an anonymous UTA College of Business alumnus has established a dollar-for-dollar Giving Match Challenge. Eligible gifts made on or before Sept. 30, 2026, will be matched up to $25,000, doubling their impact in support of College of Business students.
A UTA alumnus who earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University and was a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas, Dombroski brought decades of executive leadership experience to the college after a distinguished career with Hunt Consolidated Inc., one of the nation's largest privately held companies.
During his tenure as dean, the College of Business launched several initiatives to enhance the student experience and strengthen engagement with alumni and the business community. Those efforts included the Dean's Leadership Circle, MAVS100, The Business Maverick magazine, the Sam Mahrouq Financial Markets Lab and the Dr. Jackie Fouse Connection Court. Most recently, the college announced the creation of a Career Services Center that will provide career coaching, employer engagement, experiential learning connections and professional development programming for students.
Before becoming dean, Dombroski served on the College of Business Advisory Council beginning in 2007, including as its president. He also chaired the UTA Advisory Council from 2014 to 2018. The College of Business recognized him with its Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011, and he was honored on the National Day of Philanthropy in 2015.
