Global Ethics and Bioethics Week, organized from 14 to 18 October 2019, is an initiative of members and associate members of the UN Inter-Agency Committee on Bioethics (UNIACB). This initiative is intended to be an awareness-raising platform to highlight the important role of bioethics and ethical reflection in research and technological applications in the promotion of human well-being and respect for human rights.

Interviews from different UNIACB organizations, including UNESCO, will be published every day of the week and will try to define what bioethics and ethics of science and technology are, and how they can play an enabling role in scientific activity, policy-making, development and social well-being.

UN Inter-Agency Committee on Bioethics (UNIACB) brings together different inter-governmental organizations within and outside the United Nations system since 2003. It provides a forum of exchange of information in the field of bioethics and related issues, with special attention to human rights, and intends to promote coordination and cooperation in the activities carried out by its members.
