Liberal Health Promise Broken Again: Labor MPs Assert

Tas Labor

Another broken Liberal health promise

The Liberal Government has been caught red handed breaking another health promise as part of Eric Abetz's $700 million health cuts.

During the election campaign, the Liberals promised a new Legana Health Hub , including an Urgent Care Centre, to service 30,000 people across Legana, Riverside and the West Tamar.

They said construction would start within 12 months.

It hasn't.

There is still no clinic, no construction, and no clear funding in the Budget.

Instead, the Liberals are now asking the Federal Government to pay for it.

Bridget Archer should explain why she attacked bulk-billed urgent care clinics as 'lazy policy' but is now asking Federal Labor to fund one because the Liberals failed to deliver their own commitment.

People in Legana, Riverside and the West Tamar were promised a new doctor clinic, but all they've received is a Liberal press release before the election and a broken promise after it.

This is the same pattern we saw when the Premier stood beside a cancer patient and promised $117 million for more cancer, dialysis, and diagnostic services on the North West Coast - then failed to fund it.

After 13 years of Liberal waste, the Liberals are cutting $700 million from health services to pay for it.
