Liberals put stadium over Tasmanians

Tasmanian Labor

The Liberals have put their contempt for Tasmanians on clear display by continuing to prioritise a new $750 million stadium in Hobart.

In the middle of a cost of living crisis the Premier's decision to put a roof over a stadium before putting a roof over the heads of homeless Tasmanians clearly shows how out of touch he is.

Exhausted nurses, teachers and other public sector workers are walking off the job because they are at breaking point after two years of working through some of the most difficult conditions imaginable yet they still can't get a decent pay offer from this government, but miraculously the Premier can find money for a stadium.

The Premier has his priorities wrong and is failing to get the basics right.

Even Liberal Party members are lining up to oppose a new $750 million stadium in Hobart arguing that it's the wrong priority for Tasmania.

It is time the government listened to Tasmanians and put them first instead of stubbornly pushing on with another stadium in Hobart nobody wants.
