Lime Kiln Bay Wetlands Project Seeks Public Input

Georges River Council

Georges River Council is inviting the community to have their say on planned upgrades to Lime Kiln Bay.

Council is committed to addressing issues in the area including poor water flow, sediment build up, invasive plants and pest turtles. These concerns have all affected the wetlands' health and visitor experience.

The planned upgrades will focus on improving water quality and removing invasive plants to support native wildlife. Additionally, replanting, landscaping, and enhancements to pedestrian safety around the wetlands will help restore the natural environment and enhance the overall visitor experience.

Council encourages the community to view the planned upgrades and provide feedback. Council is also interested to know how the community use Lime Kiln Bay, as well as any other suggestions about the proposed improvements.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "Lime Kiln Bay Wetlands is one of our natural gems, and these upgrades will help restore its health and protect the local environment.

"It is not only a vital environmental asset, but a much-loved local space. These upgrades will make the area safer and more accessible, benefiting both the ecosystem and the community.

"I encourage all members of our community to tell us more about how they use the area and any further suggestions they may have on the upgrades."
