Showcasing WA's strength in developing ingenious, innovative solutions.
More than 20 local technology innovators have been recognised through the INCITE Awards program, delivered by Western Australia's Innovation, Technology and Talent Alliance's (WAITTA).
Now in its 35th year, the INCITE Awards continue to showcase WA's strength in developing ingenious, innovative solutions. The 2026 cohort comprises 20 award winners across nine categories and three honorary award recipients.
WA's Minister for Science and Innovation, Hon Stephen Dawson MLC, praised WAITTA's longstanding role in bringing together WA's digital ecosystem since 1991, nurturing local talent and promoting the State's technological capabilities.
In his video remarks, the Minister also highlighted how the WA Government is strengthening the State's digital capability through the $1.8 billion Future Health Research and Innovation Fund , Digital Industries Acceleration Strategy , the Digital Capability Fund , as well as a $40 million investment to support space industry projects.
The Minister also noted the support being delivered to local entrepreneurs and innovative companies across a wide range of sectors through the Innovation Strategy and associated $40 million New Industries and Innovation Fund (NIIF).
Hon Dr Parwinder Kaur MLC represented the Minister at the awards gala, where she presented two awards on his behalf:
- Digital Government Solution of the Year
- Industrial Technology Solution of the Year
Dr Kaur celebrated the finalists and winners, sharing that they reflect the ingenuity and excellence of WA's industrial and technology sectors. She also highlighted how the INCITE Awards program helps position WA as a globally recognised hub of invention, investment, innovation and impact.
The INCITE Awards program provides pathways to national awards programs for the winners, giving WA innovators the opportunity to showcase their work on a broader stage.
Since the inception of the INCITE Awards, more than 300 representatives from WA have gone on to compete in the national iAwards, with many progressing to compete and succeed at the international Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance Awards.
