There's plenty happening for library lovers young and old.
During Book Week, Gerringong Library welcomed approximately 170 children from Gerringong Public School over two days to celebrate all things Australian books and complete activities relating to the Children's Book Council of Australia's theme, Symphony of Stories.
All of the children took home an entry form for our Children's Library Card Design competition, and entries are being handed in every day. The competition is open to Kiama Library members aged 5-12 years and entries close 1pm, Saturday 10 October.
Draw a colourful design for our new children's library card inspired by the library or the Kiama area (eg landscapes and natural environments, local plants, animals, people, iconic buildings - anything that reflects the local area).

Our special Book Week-themed storytimes at Kiama and Gerringong libraries were also very popular, with more than 100 children joining the fun.
The library is now gearing up for an action-packed program of spring-themed school holiday activities for kids and teenagers.
Come along to Kiama and Gerringong libraries for fun holiday activities, including green screen movie-making, watercolour painting, Cricut tote bags, ceramics, LEGO challenges, graphic novel illustration workshop, snail mail, mini greenhouses, and more!
Upcoming events for adults include authors Sophie Green, Monica McInerney and Ryan Butta, each coming to talk about their latest books; the Shoalhaven Bat Clinic relating fascinating facts about microbats; and Catherine Devrye, the latest presenter in our popular Travel Talk series, sharing entertaining anecdotes from her book, Beyond Timbuktu.
For the creatives, we've got watercolour painting workshops, and our annual series of writing workshops in November to inspire you on your writing journey.
And there will be an Outdoor Library at Kiama Culture Fest at Hindmarsh Park on 10 October from 11am-5pm.
There will be a story booth where you can have a polaroid picture taken and decorate a story card to add to our wall, a folklore trail where you have to solve clues and follow a map to collect a prize, a library stall with bookish treats and multicultural language loans from books covering 43 languages.
Something for everyone at the library.
