Main Arm causeway number 2 to be replaced

The causeway near the intersection of Main Arm Road and Palmwoods Road is being replaced.

Main Arm causeway number 2 is in poor condition and Council will be building a new crossing over Stoney Creek that is slightly higher. It will be upgraded to take two lanes of traffic.

The $734,000 project also includes the reconstruction of road approaches and improvements to drainage.

"This project has been on our radar for some time, and I know local residents will be pleased to see it replaced," Phil Holloway, Director Infrastructure Services, said.

"Like we have done at the other causeways we have replaced, this one will be fish friendly, allowing fish to move freely from one side of the causeway to the other," Mr Holloway said.

The project is jointly funded by the NSW Government's Bridges Renewal Program and Council.

Work will start in April and take approximately three months.

The road will remain open during construction but there may be traffic delays.
