Police are investigating after a 27-year-old man was assaulted and robbed while walking in parklands at Southport last night, Queensland Police say.
Around 10.30pm the man was walking in a park on Marine Parade when he was approached by three males.
During this time he was assaulted by the trio and his mobile phone was stolen before the males fled.
As a result of the assault the man sustained a suspected fractured eye socket and a broken nose.
He was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.
Investigations are continuing.
