Man assaulted on bus; one man arrested in Northern Beaches

A man has been arrested following the assault of another man while travelling on a bus through the Northern Beaches yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 9.25pm (Monday 3 December 2018), the driver of a government bus contacted emergency services and raised concerns regarding an altercation occurring on his bus travelling on Warringah Road, near O’Connor’s Road, Beacon Hill.

The bus pulled over and the altercation turned physical between three men who got off and started fighting on the side of the road.

Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived on scene and treated a 26-year-old man for serious facial injuries including broken teeth and a suspected fractured jaw. He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.

Another man, aged 22, was arrested at the scene by officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command. He was taken to Manly Police Station where he is currently assisting police with inquiries.

A crime scene was established inside the government bus and detectives have commenced inquiries as they search for a third man who they believe may have been involved in the altercation.
