A man has been charged after firearms, ammunition and drugs were seized during a search warrant in the state's Northern Region.
About 1.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 September 2026), officers attached to Brisbane Water Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a house on Pierce Street, Niagara Park.
During the search, police allegedly located 12 firearm magazines, 20 rounds of ammunition, two small duelling pistols, pepper spray and 46 cannabis plants.
All items were seized for forensic examination.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with eight offences;
- Possess unregistered firearm-pistol (two counts)
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Acquire firearm part without authority to do so
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
- Supply prohibited drug more than small and less than equal to indictable quantity
- Cultivate prohibited plant more than small and less than equal to indictable quantity
- Possess prohibited drug
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 today (Thursday 24 September 2026).
