Man charged and significant amount of property seized at George Town

Police have charged a man and seized a significant amount of property following a search at a George Town residence yesterday.

Launceston CIB executed the search warrant and seized property including:

  • 10 firearms including rifles, shotguns, pistols and an illegal gel blaster
  • Stolen property relating to a number of burglaries in the local area
  • Methylamphetamine and cannabis
  • A large amount of fireworks held without a permit.

A 39-year-old Georgetown man was arrested and subsequently charged with firearms, drugs and property offences relating to that property. He was detained to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on today.
