Police have charged a man over the alleged extortion and stalking of three people on the Gold Coast this month.
It will be alleged that around 10.50am on 18 July, a 28-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were at their home in Mermaid Waters when two unknown men attended the address, identified themselves as 'debt collectors' and demanded a significant amount of money.
The couple were then transported to a café at a nearby shopping centre where they met with a 39-year-old man, who they had previously been involved in a Broadbeach business venture with in 2025, and further threats were allegedly made.
No one was injured during the incident.
It will be further alleged that around 8.20am on 26 July, the same two men attended the house of a 47-year-old man at Currumbin Waters, where they demanded a significant amount of money and made threats.
The 47-year-old had been involved in a restaurant business venture with the 39-year-old man from 2016 to 2021.

Following investigations, yesterday 28 July, officers executed a search warrant on a residence on Marine Parade at Miami where they allegedly located drugs and arrested a 39-year-old man.
The 39-year-old Miami man was charged with three counts each of extortion and unlawful stalking and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing prescription medication.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court today, 29 July.
Investigations are continuing.
