A man will face court after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding in a school zone and assaulting a police officer in the state's central region yesterday.
Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were travelling on Woodiwiss Ave, Cobar, about 3pm yesterday (Thursday 18 June 2026), when they saw a utility allegedly travelling at excessive speed in a signposted school zone.
When the driver failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
Shortly after, police stopped the vehicle on Tindera Street where they subjected the driver – a 32-year-old man – to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.
