Man Charged Over Sex Act on Train at Hurstville

A man has been charged with commit sexual act towards another following investigations into an alleged incident on a train in Sydney's south-west last month.

Officers attached to the Police Transport Command (PTC) South-West were told a schoolgirl was on a train travelling from Arncliffe to Hurstville about 4.45pm on Thursday 23 March 2023, when a man sat opposite her.

Police have been told the man allegedly committed a sexual act in front of the student before he left the train at Hurstville Railway Station. The girl reported the incident to police and an investigation was commenced.

Following a public appeal for information, a 28-year-old man last night (Wednesday 5 April 2023), attended Hurstville Police Station where he was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station.

The man has now been charged with one count of commit sexual act towards another.

He has been granted conditional bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 2 May 2023.
