A man has faced court, charged with drug-related and theft offences in the state's north east.
In September 2025, officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in the Tamworth and surrounding areas.
Following investigations, about 7.50am Wednesday 3 December 2025, police executed a search warrant at a home on Johnston Street, Nemingha.
During the search, officers allegedly located and seized an amount of methylamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and buprenorphine and imitation firearms, as well as items believed to be stolen including cash, electronic devices, hand and power tools, fishing equipment and car accessories.
Following further inquiries, about 2.40pm on the same day, police attended a home on Johnston Street, Nemingha, where they arrested a 54-year-old man.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with:
· Three counts of possess prohibited drug,
· Three counts of possess unauthorised pistol,
· Two counts of recklessly deal with proceeds of crime greater than $5000,
· Supply prohibited drug greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity,
· Receive/dispose stolen property-minor indictable offence greater than $5000,
· Receive/dispose stolen property-minor indictable offence less than or equal to $5000,
· Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, and
· Breach of bail.
He was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 5 yesterday (Thursday 4 December 2025) where he was formally refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court on Monday 15 December 2025.
