Man dies after crash Tea Tree last week

Sadly, a 51-year-old man has died following a crash at Tea Tree on 22 June.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene, near the intersection with Middle Tea Tree Road, shortly before 12pm.

Initial inquiries suggest a Mini F56 hatch travelling south, crossed to the incorrect side of the road and collided head on with the truck which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The 51-year-old man driving the Mini was airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital, and sadly died in hospital late yesterday.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing and anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage, is asked to contact Southern Crash Investigation Services on 131 444.

Our thoughts are with the man's family and loved ones. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
