Man dies after public place shooting - Panania

An investigation is underway after a man died after being shot in a street in Panania overnight.

Emergency services were called to Wall Avenue a few minutes before midnight (Saturday 29 August 2020), after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported hearing gunshots.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command arrived and found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

CPR was performed until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the man died at the scene.

A crime scene has now been established and a canvass of the vicinity is being conducted.

Initial inquiries indicate the incident was targeted.
