Man dies in single-vehicle crash - Richmond Police District

A man has died in a single-vehicle crash at Old Grevillia, in the state's north.

About 8am yesterday (Wednesday 7th September 2022), the wreckage of a Holden Cruz sedan was located in a creek off Summerland Way, about 2km from the intersection of Findon Creek Road, by another driver.

Emergency services were contacted and attended the scene where they located the body of a man believed to be the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

Police have been told the driver, a 56-year-old man, left Muli Muli about 9pm on Tuesday 6 September 2022 to travel to Kyogle.

It appears the driver has crossed the incorrect side of Summerland Way and collided with a tree, before travelling down an embankment and coming to rest in the creek bed.

A crime scene was established and police attached to Richmond Police District have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
