Motorcyclist caught 90km/h over limit

Officers from the State Highway Patrol Solo Unit detected a motorcyclist allegedly riding 90km/h over the speed limit in Beenak yesterday.

The 37-year-old Dandenong North man was riding along Gembrook-Launching Place Road at 12.20pm.

He was detected on laser device travelling at an alleged speed of 190km/h in a 100km/h zone.

His Yamaha Tracer 900 was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1278.

It is expected the man will be charged on summons with speeding offences.
