It's a perfect time to plant new plants in your garden or around the front of your house due to Darwin's current hot and humid weather.
The City of Darwin is offering gardeners Top End native plants, the plants most likely to thrive in the current conditions. City of Darwin is holding a first native plant giveaway of 2023 will be on Saturday 11th March at Bi-Centennial Park - near Regional Playground from 8 - 11am or until stocks last.
The Native plant giveaways are part of City of Darwin's strategy to make the Territory's capital a cooler, greener city. There will be 2000 native plants on offer comprising a mixture of trees, shrubs, groundcovers and grasses.
There will be a limit of six plants per household, and people need ID to prove they are Darwin residents.
