New Chair Appointed To WA Regional Development Trust

  • Hon David Templeman to take the helm of the Western Australian Regional Development Trust
  • Trust provides independent advice and stakeholder insight on the Royalties for Regions program

Regional Development Minister Stephen Dawson today announced Hon David Templeman as Chair of the Western Australian Regional Development Trust to help drive economic diversification and job creation.

Mr Templeman will bring strong government experience and a passion for and knowledge of the regions to the role.

He joins Deputy Chair Hon Tom Stephens and current board members Paula Hickey and Neema Premji.

Other new board appointments include Cherie Heslington, a respected Nyikina and Bardi woman with experience in a range of senior regional roles, and Julie Waylen, who brings expertise in the disability and community services sector.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Stephen Dawson:

"I welcome David as Chair of the Regional Development Trust, bringing his extensive experience in government, culture and the arts, and the regions. I also welcome the appointments of Cherie Heslington and Julie Waylen.

"I would like to recognise the valued contributions of outgoing chair Professor David Caddy and board members Oral McGuire and David Doepel."
