New land release to address demand in Karratha market

29 single residential lots and one 2,876sqm group housing site released at Madigan Estate at Baynton West across multiple stages

New 1.38 hectare landscaped public open space for community recreation

New residential land has today been released in Karratha, with 29 new single resident lots now available at the family-friendly Madigan Estate at Baynton West.

Madigan is Karratha's newest affordable residential estate, located in a thriving community close to the Baynton West Primary School and only minutes from Karratha's city centre.

The 29 single residential lots provide a diverse range of sizes - from 342sqm to 861sqm - and are priced from just $97,000. Twenty lots are titled and ready to go - including a 2,876sqm group housing site zoned residential R25/R60 - while a further 10 residential lots are under construction with titles anticipated in September 2023.

The lots will be situated close to the estate's first public open space - which will provide recreation space for residents - with extensive shade along key pedestrian routes. A future primary school is also proposed.

The release follows the July announcement by the McGowan Government of the purchase of six homes in Madigan Estate, which will be used to attract and retain Government workers in Karratha.

As stated by Lands Minister John Carey:

"This Government is acutely aware of the importance of the Pilbara region to our State's economic advances - and in response we continue to unlock more land for the Karratha community to continue its growth.

"Our Government's $166 million Regional Land Booster Package continues to ensure we can meet demand, while maintaining a pipeline supply of resident land in Karratha.

"The McGowan Government continues to deliver reforms that make land available to support the growing demand for housing and residential lands across the State.

"This further builds on our initiatives to deliver more housing in the regions, including our $200 million investment in Government Regional Officers' Housing across WA, the Building Bonus Grant, and our more than $2.4 billion investment into social housing and homelessness measures."

As stated by Pilbara MLA Kevin Michel:

"The Pilbara region is experiencing growth - as such we are seeing more people relocating to Karratha as they look to the next chapter of their lives.

"The McGowan Government is pleased to continue its investment in the region, and we all know Karratha and the Pilbara region are key drivers to our State's continued economic successes."
