New Season Of Grants For Sporting Clubs

VIC Premier

Victorian community sporting groups can kick off their 2023 season with funding now available for uniforms, equipment, training and club development, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced applications are open for the latest round of the Sporting Club Grants Program.

Grants of up to $1,000 are available for uniforms and participation equipment, up to $2,000 for training of coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to create new participation initiatives and improve club operational effectiveness.

Previous grant recipients include Moe/Newborough Baseball Club scoring $5,000 to develop a strategic plan to build on club participation, and Swan Hill Little Athletics Centre receiving $2,000 to upskill its volunteer coaches.

The Sporting Club Grants Program has invested more than $15.5 million to support thousands of community sporting clubs across the state since 2015.

By providing more opportunities for clubs and organisations to build their resources, skills and offer new initiatives, the program makes an important contribution to future proofing grassroots sport and active recreation.

It's part of the Labor Government's commitment to make community sport and active recreation more inclusive and accessible, increase participation, stimulate local economies, and build sustainable opportunities for sport and active recreation volunteers.
