A re-elected Liberal Government will invest $600,000 in a pilot program which supports women escaping violent relationships.
Liberal candidate for Ryde, Jordan Lane, said SafeT was an initiative from The Northern Centre that provides wrap-around services to help women the moment they seek help.
"This program provides women with support on everything from legal matters to housing, education and mental health ensuring they have everything they need to leave a violent relationship on a permanent basis," Mr Lane said.
"This program is particularly important for our multicultural community because we know services need to be specific to different backgrounds in order to be effective."
Minister for Women's Safety and the Prevention of Domestic and Sexual Violence Natalie Ward said this was an important program.
"Victim-survivors in diverse communities are often reluctant to seek mainstream support because of their visa status, the absence of a trusted social network in Australia or language and cultural barriers and this program will help us reach them," Mrs Ward said.
"This is another example of the Liberal Nationals Government commitment to addressing Domestic and Family Violence in our communities. NSW is leading the nation in our response to domestic, family and sexual violence."
The commitment is in addition to the $787 million in funding already invested in a range of Domestic Violence programs including the Core and Cluster program, $484.3 million to almost double the number of refuges across NSW.
