Quotes attributable to Minister for Housing Meaghan Scanlon:

"Every Queenslander deserves a roof over their head – it's why we've built on average more than 10 homes per week since 2015.

"Last financial year, we helped more than 1000 Queenslanders into social homes in Brisbane.

"We know across the country housing pressures are having an impact, including in Queensland. That's why we locked in an additional $1.1 billion to build thousands of homes across the state as well as buy and lease emergency accommodation.

"These apartments are another example of the work that's being done, and it won't be long now before Queenslanders in need will make their home here."

Quotes attributable to Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard:

"I'm thrilled to see these thirteen units delivered for my community in Zillmere, providing much needed housing relief in our local area for those most vulnerable.

"Our community is not immune to the pressures we are seeing in housing nationally – but it is well placed to provide access to the important services, shops, and public transport that is essential to effective social housing development.

"I'm also very happy to see that these thirteen units delivered here will be mixed cohort, including suitability for families as well as high-level disability access in a number of units."

Quotes attributable to Builder Anthony Barbagallo whose team has worked on around 700 social housing units for the Queensland Government:

"We all feel good about delivering social housing.

"We've gone back and met some of the people in the past, and they're people who need assistance.

Mr Barbagallo added the state's social housing properties are quality design and construction.

"The designs have changed over the years, and they're more detailed now than when I first started."
