Three precincts in East Wanneroo District Structure Plan area approved for development
The State Government's long-term plan to unlock land for new housing in Perth's north-eastern corridor is being realised with the approval of three local structure plans that will lead the way for thousands of new homes over the coming decades.
Three precincts within the East Wanneroo District Structure Plan area have been approved for delivery, with the first stage set to create around 1,000 lots over several phases.
Located approximately 25km from the Perth CBD, the precinct will include a mix of housing types from traditional family-sized blocks through to townhouse style homes and will eventually be serviced by schools, a neighbourhood shopping centre, and proximity to transport links.
Works are already underway on the initial subdivision will see around 180 lots delivered late 2025 to early 2026.
A district-wide infrastructure contribution plan is being prepared to set out timeframes for the delivery of arterial roads, district-level community facilities and groundwater management systems.
Over the next 50 years, around 8,000 hectares of land across the north-eastern region - encompassing parts of Wanneroo, Mariginiup, Gnangara, Jandabup and Pinjar - will gradually be prepared and released for development. Each locality has been designed to ensure access to public open space, through a mix of parks, playing fields and natural bushland, with important environmental assets to be preserved.
