NSW Health Minister Tours Blayney MPS Redevelopment

Work to deliver the Blayney Multipurpose Service (MPS) Stage 1 redevelopment has taken a key step forward, with external works for the new Residential Aged Care wing and Inpatient Unit nearing completion.
The Blayney MPS Redevelopment project is the final site to be delivered under the NSW Government's current $297 million Multipurpose Service Program to improve and enhance health facilities across smaller rural and remote communities.
The redevelopment is centrally located on Osman Street, close to other medical and aged care services, including HealthOne. The project includes construction of a new, purpose-built, modern health facility, improving access to health and aged care services for the Blayney community.
The new residential aged care wing features single rooms and bathrooms and additional inpatient unit beds, chair-based services and HealthOne rooms, with space for future expansion.
The residential wing will be connected to new landscaped courtyards and gardens to create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, visitors and staff.
With external works almost complete, the next phase of construction has begun, which will include the internal fit-out, services installation and final exterior works.
Staff, aged care residents and families have helped shaped the new facility, providing valuable input throughout the planning and design stage to ensure the new facility is tailored to the needs of the local community.
The Blayney MPS redevelopment is being delivered in stages to ensure all existing clinical services, including the existing MPS continues to operate while construction is carried out.
Aged care residents will relocate into the new Residential Aged Care wing when building works are completed, followed by an operational commissioning period. Construction for Stage 1 works is expected to be completed in early 2026.
This next phase of work will include demolition of the existing buildings and construction of the new HealthOne, entry, reception, waiting room, staff area and ambulatory care.
