NT Police Pursue Leads on Alice Springs Aggravated Robbery

Northern Territory Police are seeking information about an aggravated robbery that occurred in Alice Springs over the weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday, a man was targeted in the Leichhardt Terrace car park. He had parked his white Holden VZ Commodore with a Honda CRF450 motorbike on the rear bike rack and a significant amount of opal gems inside.

The man heard a disturbance, finding a group surrounding his vehicle while the motorbike was being taken. In an attempt to confront the group, he was physically assaulted by one of the individuals and faced another with an edged weapon. Fearing for his safety, the man escaped through bushes onto Leichhardt Terrace.

Upon his return a few minutes later, both the white Holden VZ Commodore and the Honda CRF450 were gone. The victim reported the incident, and police attended the scene.

The stolen vehicle was recovered the next morning by Strike Force Viper and returned to the owner. However, the Honda CRF450 is still missing.

The Alice Springs Criminal Investigation Branch is actively searching, and the public is urged to provide information. Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with details is encouraged to come forward, quoting reference number NTP2400017100.
